The answer to this depends on the treatment plan agreed with the patient at the start of the Course of Treatment (CoT).

If at the time of the examination/extraction of the tooth the performer agreed to provide a temporary denture with a view to fitting a permanent bridge in a few months, this would be considered as a single CoT.

If however the performer said that a denture would be provided whilst the alveolar bone heals and that in six months’ time (or whenever the patient was next due a recall) further treatment options would be considered, and this may include the provision of fixed bridgework, this would be considered as two CoTs.
