This depends on what your role was in the initial extraction.
If you performed the initial extraction under the same contract, any treatment for a dry or infected socket would be part of the after care of the extraction.
No claim for UDA must be made.
You must record the treatment provided on the patient's clinical notes and withdraw the original FP17 claim.
Resubmit the FP17 claim with the correct Date of Completion (DoC) on satisfactory resolution of the dry or infected socket. This would usually happen within a week of the extraction taking place.
If the initial extraction was carried out at a different practice under a different provider contract, the second practice could claim urgent treatment for treating the infected socket as they would not have carried out the original treatment.
