This depends on what your role was in the initial extraction.

If you performed the initial extraction under the same contract, any treatment for dry / infected socket would be part of the after care of the extraction. No claim for UDA should be made. You should record the treatment provided on the patient's clinical notes. You should also withdraw the original FP17 claim and resubmit it with the correct Date of Completion (DoC), on satisfactory resolution of the dry / infected socket. This would usually happen within a week of the extraction taking place.

If the initial extraction was carried out at a different practice under a different provider contract, then the second practice could claim urgent treatment for treating the infected socket as they wouldn't have carried out the original treatment.
