Continuation is further treatment within 2 months.
This does not apply if Unscheduled Care is required within 2 months of a previous CoT. This must be claimed as a separate CoT.
The clinician submitting the FP17 claim must cross box 4 'Unscheduled Care' in Part 5 of the FP17. The 'Further treatment within 2 months' box in Part 6 of the FP17 must not be crossed in these cases.
If the patient has returned for care directly related to a recent restoration you've performed, such as a dry socket after an extraction or the easing of a newly constructed denture, Unscheduled Care would not be appropriate. This would be considered part of the initial CoTs aftercare and must be provided within that claim.
