Does the 2-month late submitting rule apply to orthodontic treatment claims?

The regulations for submission of FP17s and FP17Os relates to both general and orthodontic courses of treatment (CoT) however the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) were asked to enforce the rule for general CoT only.

Our systems check and report on any forms which breach the rule but for orthodontic courses we only create the comment code which is included on the payment statement. This has been the case since the late submission rule was introduced in June 2014.
