In January 2020, the Dentistry Report replaced the Vital Signs report.

It's based on the Vital Signs report but differs as it's updated monthly for each contract.

The ‘Dentistry Report’ contains information to help providers, and their Commissioners monitor their contracts across 4 key areas:

  • access
  • activity
  • quality
  • finance

You can search for the report using the ‘ACTEND’ report code on Compass:

  1. Select Reporting.
  2. Select View Published Reports.

We've published Monthly dentistry report guidance (PDF: 153KB) outlining the content of the Dentistry Report.

The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) ruled that information relating to the delivery of public services is in the public interest and therefore both the Vital Signs and the Dentistry Report are published on the NHS Information Services website.

The report has been suspended since 2020 due to Covid-19.
