Orthodontic treatment uses appliances to correct the position of the teeth. There are different types of appliance.
Removable Appliances
These are usually plastic plates that cover the roof of the mouth and clip on to some teeth; they can be taken out and cleaned.
Functional Appliances
These are removable plastic braces that are joined together or designed to work together to improve the bite.
Fixed Appliances
These are non-removable braces that are fixed to the teeth by the orthodontist.
