A PPC lets you get as many NHS prescriptions as you need for a set price. If you regularly pay prescription charges, a PPC could save you money.
A PPC costs:
- £32.05 for 3 months
- £114.50 for 12 months
You can pay for a PPC as a one-off payment or by Direct Debit (DD).
PPC payments will show as 'NHSBSA PPC' on your bank statement.
The quickest way to buy a PPC is to buy it online.
You can also buy a PPC at some pharmacies or by calling 0300 330 1341.
In England, NHS prescriptions cost £9.90. The cost of a PPC is less than paying for your prescriptions individually if:
- 3 month PPC: you collect 4 or more prescription items within 3 months
- 12 month PPC: you collect 12 or more prescription items within 12 months

If you request a digital certificate, this will be sent to your email address within 24 hours.
If you choose a paper certificate, this can take up to 10 working days after the first payment has been collected.
Auto-renewal digital certificates will be sent by email on the certificate start date.
