You would be entitled to free NHS dental treatment if at the time you are accepted for a course of NHS dental treatment:

  • You are pregnant

or;

  • You have had a baby (including a baby registered as stillborn) within the last 12 months.

If you have a miscarriage, you would only be entitled to free NHS dental treatment if you were pregnant at the time you were accepted for a course of NHS dental treatment.

If you have miscarried prior to being accepted for a course of NHS dental treatment, you would not be entitled.

If you gave given birth to a child registered as stillborn (i.e. you have miscarried after the 24th week of pregnancy or after) you?re entitled to free NHS dental treatment for 12 months following the birth.

If you became pregnant partway through a course of NHS dental treatment you are not entitled to this course of treatment for free.

If you started the course of NHS dental treatment when you were exempt you would be entitled to this course of treatment for free if your entitlement ceased part way through.
