A one-off payment will be made to the member’s surviving partner, nominee, or their estate if they have:

You can find the one-off payment calculations for each Scheme on the ‘Survivors guide’ on our website.

Dependant Claim Form (DCF) must be completed by the person making the claim for the death benefits of a deferred member.

More than 12 months after leaving the Scheme

A one-off payment will be made to the member's surviving partner, nominee, or estate if they have:

  • less than 2 years membership overall
  • no refund of contributions
  • no transfer out

This is equivalent to a refund of the member's contributions minus any appropriate deductions such as income tax.

A claim for a refund of contributions form (AW12/2) form must be completed by the member's personal representative to claim a refund of contributions. This can be requested by contacting us.
