You'll receive an email if the employer offers you a job using the NHS Jobs service.

Sign in and select ‘Respond to offer’ from the 'Your applications' page.

When responding to a job offer you can:

  • ask the employer for more information
  • accept the job offer
  • reject the job offer

Accepting a job offer

When you choose to accept a job offer, you'll be asked to provide your:

  • employment or personal references
  • date of birth
  • National Insurance number

You can transfer your employment history to your new organisation if you’re employed by an NHS employer that uses the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system. Doing this means the information needed as part of the recruitment is provided automatically.

For some roles, you may need to add your professional body and membership details.

Rejecting a job offer

When rejecting an offer, you must add your reason why. This is sent to the employer.

You cannot amend your response to the job offer once this has been submitted.

You must contact the employer directly if you've changed your mind.
