What must I do if the holder of a UK Global Health Insurance Card (UK GHIC) or UK European Health Insurance Card (UK EHIC) has died?

If a UK GHIC or UK EHIC holder has died, return the card with a covering letter and copy of the death certificate to:

Start the address with either ‘UK GHIC’ or ‘UK EHIC’ depending on which card you’re returning.

The card, and any dependant’s cards, will be cancelled from the date of death.

Once the card has been cancelled, eligible dependants can reapply as a main applicant.
