You're not entitled to help with your NHS health costs if:
- you've not been awarded any payments based on your benefit assessment
- you've been sanctioned - if you receive Universal Credit (UC), you're still entitled to help with your health costs if you would be entitled if it was not for the sanction
- you have an underlying entitlement - this might be because you're receiving a different higher value benefit
Your entitlement may change if your payments change in another assessment period. This is regardless of if National Insurance contributions are being paid on your behalf.
If you're receiving payment of a qualifying benefit but an earlier overpayment is currently being recovered from you, you can continue to claim help with your NHS health costs.
