How do I submit a claim if a Dental Care Professional (DCP) carried out all or part of a Course of Treatment (COT)?

This depends on whether they have completed all or part of the treatment.

DCP has completed the full CoT

If the DCP has completed the full CoT without a dental performer, they must submit their own FP17.

These are submitted using the DCPs Personal ID.

DCP has completed part of a CoT

If DCPs share a CoT with a dental performer, the dental performer’s Personal ID must be included on the FP17.

When completing an FP17 you must include:

• the type of DCP (such as a dental therapist or a dental hygienist)
• the DCP’s GDC number, this is validated against the GDC register on Compass

Both fields must be completed. If you only complete one of the fields, the FP17 will reject.
