You do not need to tell us. Dependants are not considered in your bursary assessment.

Postgraduate course students

If you have care of a new child or an adult dependant not declared on your application, you must tell us.

This may mean you’re entitled to either:

First child or newly dependant adult

If this is your first child, or the first time an adult is dependent on you, you must complete a change of circumstances in your MyFunding account.

After the change of circumstances has been completed, upload any additional evidence to support this change, if this has not been previously supplied.

You must also tell us if you're now receiving any extra income, such as any taxable benefits or maintenance payments, that were not declared on your original application form.

We'll reassess your entitlement within 20 working days and notify you of the outcome by email.

We'll contact you if we need any further information or evidence from you.

Additional child

If you've already applied for these allowances but now have an additional child, a new application is not needed, unless you need to apply for additional childcare costs.

If you need additional childcare costs, you must complete a new Childcare Allowance (CCA) application form.

Once completed this must be uploaded to your MyFunding account, through a Change of Circumstances application.

You must also tell us if you're receiving any extra income, such as any taxable benefits or maintenance payments, that were not declared on your original application form.

If you’re receiving extra income, upload a covering letter explaining the change in your circumstances with evidence of the extra income.

We'll reassess your entitlement within 20 working days and notify you of the outcome by email.

We'll contact you if we need any further information or evidence from you.
