If you need additional help
If you need additional help which was not included in the original assessment of study needs report, further recommendations must be submitted in writing from the assessment centre that carried out the original assessment.
If there's a further cost associated with this, they must tell us by email beforehand, to check that we'll cover the cost.
If you’d like to purchase equipment that was not specifically mentioned in your assessment you must contact your assessor, as we may need a revised quote. This means, if you've been allocated funds to buy a printer and scanner but wish to buy a combined printer and scanner, this must be considered by us.
Once we've received a recommendation and considered your change, we’ll contact you to advise of the decision.
If the the original Needs Assessment or Access Centre has closed down, you must contact the Disability Advisor within your university for advice.
If your disability gets worse
You can apply to have another assessment of study needs carried out to identify any extra support you may need during your course.
If you've already been awarded the maximum DSAs rates we are unable to consider any additional funding.
If not, you must complete a new DSAs application form in your MyFunding account, if you've not already completed one for the current academic year. You must upload a letter requesting this if you’ve already applied. You must also upload evidence of how your disability has become worse.
If a further assessment is approved the cost of this would be met by us. You must not arrange for the further assessment until you receive confirmation from us.
If the the original Needs Assessment or Access Centre has closed down, you must contact the Disability Advisor within your university for advice.
