If you're under age 18, you're eligible for Healthy Start if you're either:
- pregnant
- receiving a qualifying benefit and have a child under the age of 4
If you receive Universal Credit (UC), you can apply on our website.
Contact us for an application form if you're pregnant and either:
- receiving another qualifying benefit
- not receiving a qualifying benefit
You will not automatically be entitled to Healthy Start payments when either:
- your child is born
- you're 18 years old
The action you need to take for your Healthy Start payments to continue, depends on your circumstances.
If you were not receiving a qualifying benefit when you first applied for Healthy Start but you are now, you must reapply.
If you had a qualifying benefit when you applied for Healthy Start and have turned 18 years old before your child is born, your Healthy Start payments will continue.
