Healthy Start is available if you live in either:

  • England
  • Wales
  • Northern Ireland

If you live in Scotland, you can get help from Best Start Foods.

You're eligible to apply for Healthy Start if you're either:

  • more than 10 weeks pregnant
  • have a child under the age of 4 

You must be receiving either:

  • Universal Credit (UC) and your family's total take-home pay is £408 or less per month
  • Pension Credit which includes the child addition

Under 18

If you’re under 18 you’re eligible without receiving benefits if:

  • you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant
  • you do not have any other children

You'll need to reapply online once your child is born or you turn 18, whichever happens first.
